The Power of Short Bursts (aka why doing a little is more than enough)

Here’s the thing nobody tells you when you’re drowning in clutter: You don’t need a plan. You don’t need a weekend. You actually don’t even need motivation. You just need a little burst. Ten minutes of energy. A random spark. One good song. A sudden wave of “I can’t take this mess anymore.” That’s all it takes to start.

And honestly? That’s more than enough.

I used to think organizing meant clearing out a whole room. Perfectly. In one shot. I thought it had to look like an HGTV reveal or it didn’t count. But that mindset? It can keep us stuck. Because we don’t always have four hours and a fresh burst of inspiration. Some days all I have personally is a random urge to empty the junk drawer at 9:43 PM. And you know what? That absolutely counts.

Short bursts work. They’re how I reset my own space A LOT of times. Granted, I've already established some systems in my space. They’re how us ADHDers (and full lives and tired brains) actually get stuff done. That random 8-minute energy wave? Use it. That moment where you’re waiting for the microwave? Put one thing away. That tiny push to just start? Gold.

And don’t overthink it. You don’t need to finish an entire space. You don’t need to organize it perfectly. Just move something. Wipe something. Toss something. Take one step and let it count.

Smiling person holds a basket against a light background. Text reads "Ready to Reset: A 21-Day Challenge to Declutter What's Stealing Your Peace."

PS. If you’ve been needing a little momentum, I’m running a free 21-day Ready to Reset Challenge right now. Nothing fancy. Just simple, doable resets every day to help you move forward in your space and your mind. Start today. Start late. Start messy. Just start.

Short bursts are enough. You are enough. And we’re doing this together.
