Professional Organizer Services

What professional organizing actually is, who it's for, what it costs, and why the right organizer changes everything — not just the space.

Understanding the Profession

What Does a Professional Organizer Do?

A professional organizer is a trained specialist who helps individuals and families create functional, sustainable order in their physical spaces. Unlike a housekeeper or a moving company, a professional organizer works alongside you — making decisions, building systems, and ensuring that everything in your home has a logical, accessible place that fits the way you actually live.

The work goes far beyond tidying. Professional organizers assess how a space is being used, identify the root causes of recurring clutter, and design organizational structures that are intuitive enough to maintain on your own long after the sessions end. They also handle the logistical labor of sorting, categorizing, labeling, and — when needed — sourcing storage products that match both your space and your budget.

Professional organizing is not about achieving a perfect aesthetic. It is about creating an environment where your daily life runs more smoothly, your stress is lower, and your time is not wasted searching for things that should be easy to find.

In practice, the scope of work varies by client and project. Some organizers specialize in residential spaces — kitchens, closets, garages, home offices, children's rooms — while others focus on moves, downsizing, or business environments. Many, including Ready Set Declutter, also offer virtual coaching for clients who want professional guidance without in-person sessions.

A skilled professional organizer also serves as a neutral third party — someone who can help you release items you have been emotionally holding onto, ask the right questions about what truly serves your life, and keep the process moving when decision fatigue sets in.

Finding the Right Fit

Who Should Hire a Professional Organizer?

There is no single profile for someone who benefits from professional organizing. Clients range from high-achieving professionals whose homes reflect the chaos of a demanding career, to new parents navigating the accumulation that comes with children, to adults managing the complexities of ADHD, anxiety, or depression.

You might be a strong candidate for professional organizing services if any of the following resonates with you:

You feel overwhelmed at home

and can't identify where to start when you try to address the clutter.

Your space is affecting your mental health

— causing anxiety, depression, or a persistent low-grade stress you can't shake.

You've tried to get organized before

but the systems never stuck because they weren't designed for how you actually think and live.

You are navigating a life transition

— a move, a divorce, a death, a new baby, or downsizing — and need support creating order in a new chapter.

You have ADHD

and conventional organizing advice simply doesn't work for your brain's unique strengths and challenges.

You know what needs to happen

but you lack the time, energy, or accountability to do it alone — and you want a partner to work alongside you.

Professional organizing is not a luxury exclusively for large homes or high incomes. It is a practical investment in your daily functioning, your mental clarity, and the quality of your life at home. The right time to hire a professional organizer is whenever the disorganization is costing you more — in stress, time, or wellbeing — than the service itself.

Transparency & Value

How Much Does a Professional Organizer Cost?

Whole-home or multi-room transformation packages

Most professional organizers offer tiered packages that define the number of spaces, hours, and included services. This approach gives clients clarity on scope and investment before any work begins. At Ready Set Declutter, packages are structured around three distinct service levels:

Best For
Total Transformation

When evaluating the cost of professional organizing, consider the full picture: the hours spent searching for misplaced items, the duplicate purchases of things you already own but can't locate, the mental energy consumed by a space that doesn't function — and the very real toll that chronic disorganization takes on mood, focus, and self-worth. For most clients, the return on investment is immediate and lasting.

Our Approach

What Makes Ready Set Declutter Different?

Ready Set Declutter was founded by Lastree — known to clients as Las — after firsthand experience with what it feels like to navigate clutter when ADHD, anxiety, or depression are part of the picture. That lived experience is foundational to the practice, informing every consultation, every system design, and every client interaction.

"Working with Las was the best decision we made! Our garage was a nightmare and we put it off for so many years because we didn't know where to start. Las came in with a plan and together we made a place for each item. I can't wait to find other places in our home to organize with Las."

Most professional organizers offer tiered packages that define the number of spaces, hours, and included services. This approach gives clients clarity on scope and investment before any work begins. At Ready Set Declutter, packages are structured around three distinct service levels:

Compassion First

Every client is met without judgment. Clutter is not a moral failure — it is often a sign of a busy life or a brain that works differently. The work begins with empathy and genuine care for your wellbeing.

Education-Based

The goal is not dependency — it is capability. Every session includes teaching the strategies and habits that allow clients to maintain their new systems independently after the work is done.

ADHD-Informed

Ready Set Declutter specializes in systems designed for brains with executive function differences. Strategies are intuitive, low-friction, and forgiving by design — not punishing to maintain.

Award-Recognized

Named one of the Top 3 Best Professional Organizers in Orlando by Orlando Magazine's Best of ORL 2025 — a reflection of client results, not just a great-looking Instagram grid.

Ready Set Declutter serves the greater Orlando area and surrounding Central Florida communities. Virtual coaching sessions are available for clients outside the service area or those who prefer remote support.

Neurodivergent-Centered Practice

ADHD-Friendly Organizing Approach

Standard organizing advice — "a place for everything and everything in its place" — was built for a certain type of brain. For people with ADHD, that advice often fails not because of laziness or lack of effort, but because the systems it produces are incompatible with how the ADHD brain actually functions.

Executive function challenges — difficulty with task initiation, working memory limitations, and trouble with transitions — mean that even a beautifully organized space can fall apart within days if it wasn't designed with those challenges in mind. Ready Set Declutter's ADHD-friendly approach starts from this reality and builds forward.

Core Principles of ADHD-Friendly Organizing

Visibility over containment. Out of sight truly is out of mind for many ADHD brains. Systems favor open storage, clear containers, and visual cues that reduce the cognitive load of finding and returning items.

Friction reduction as a design principle. Every step removed from putting something away increases the likelihood that it will actually happen. Lids, latches, and multi-step systems are minimized in favor of open, one-motion solutions.

No system survives without forgiveness. ADHD-friendly systems are built to tolerate imperfection — a space that looks 80% organized still functions. Maintenance does not require a perfect reset every time.

Working with natural tendencies, not against them. If your clothes inevitably land on the chair, the system accommodates that reality rather than fighting it. Sustainable organization works with your habits, not against them.

Emotional regulation is part of the process. Decluttering can be emotionally difficult for anyone, and particularly so for people with ADHD who may have object-based emotional connections or perfectionism that makes letting go feel high-stakes. Sessions are paced thoughtfully, with room for that complexity.

This approach is not only for those with a formal ADHD diagnosis. It benefits anyone who has struggled with "should be easy" systems that still don't stick — anyone with anxiety, depression, sensory sensitivities, or simply a life too full to maintain a high-effort organizational structure.

The result is a home designed for the person who actually lives there, not for an idealized version of who they should be.

The Process

What to Expect During Your First Session

For many clients, the lead-up to the first session carries some anxiety — worry about being judged, uncertainty about the process, or the vulnerability of letting someone into the chaos. That anxiety typically dissolves within the first few minutes of working with Ready Set Declutter. Here is what the process actually looks like.

1

The Introductory Call (Before Your First Session)

Before any in-home work begins, you'll have a complimentary introductory call with Lastree. This is a conversation — not a sales pitch. The goal is to understand your space, your goals, and what has or hasn't worked in the past so that the right service can be recommended and expectations can be aligned.

2

In-Person Consultation

After the intro call, Lastree comes to you.

She walks through the spaces being address, gets to know your challenges, and listens to what you actually want your home to feel like. You do not need to have cleaned beforehand — seeing the space in its natural state gives the organizer the most accurate picture of how systems should be designed.

From there, she puts together a realistic estimate and reviews your options. And if you're ready to get started, you can sign your contract, collect payment, and lock in your sessions right then and there and leave already feeling lighter.

3

Sorting & Decision-Making

When the work begins, it's collaborative. Everything in the space is sorted and evaluated together. Keep, donate, relocate, discard — each item gets a clear destination. The organizer helps guide decision-making without making decisions for you. Your home, your choices, your boundaries and most importantly, your peace of mind.

4

System Building

Once items have been edited, the remaining belongings are organized into logical, intuitive systems. Categories are established, zones are created, and when applicable, labels are applied. The goal is a system that you can maintain without thinking too hard about it.

5

Coaching & Handoff

At the close of every session, time is spent reviewing what was built, why it works the way it does, and what habits will support the system going forward. Clients leave with a clear understanding of their space — not just a prettier version of it.

Most clients describe their first session as simultaneously easier than expected and more impactful than they anticipated. The transformation is not just in the space — it is in the sense of possibility that opens up when your environment finally works with you.
